Pre-production image for an urban street portrait I made of Nick Clegg MP, the leader of the Liberal Democrat party. Final shot here.
After the scouting and planning about the lighting over the previous few days Monday morning arrived and as expected it was a bright sunny (and cold) morning in London.
I took this shot about an hour before Nick Clegg was going to arrive to decide what shutter speed I was going to use in the final shot. Because I wanted the sky and white building as subdued as I could I went with my sync speed, 1/250 second.
Fair play to the RF-602 triggers that allowed me to take the shot at the sync speed with no horrible black borders from the shutters occurring. Other radio triggers used to give me this problem and I could only shoot safety at 1/160 Cactus V2s.
I wasn't worried about the dark foreground. I'd be lighting that up like a Christmas tree with three lights later.
