This was taken at State Records Office NSW on their open day in 2011. It was used to illustrate my blog post, 'Women and Archival Silences'. 'Women and Archival Silences'. Records of women's history are often missing or obscured in archives but with creativity and persistence historians can do a lot to recognise the enormous contribution of women to our society in the past. In this post I share some of the difficulties I have faced in researching women's history and some great work that is being done by other historians in this area.
