Harumi Asaoka & Lady Licca

My Harumi Asaoka and Lady Licca after a bath. They are headed to Japan for a spa treatment and makeover thanks to the super talented and kind Mikiko! Both girls have needed some work done for years and they're finally getting the care they deserve.

Please excuse the low-quality pic but it was taken at 10pm with the low rez camera on my computer. Playing with the contrast made it look better, believe it or not. ^^;

I bought last week a strange japanese like copy of Barbie in Bangkok. When I see your pic I realize it must be a kind of licca copy… First time I saw this in Thailand…

No I don't. I'm afraid that my dolls get to have a holiday but I have to stay at home in CA where it's extremely smoky right now due to all the wild fires. I hope I can go back again some day though! It's definitely one of my favorite places to travel to but I wouldn't go there in the summer again. Japanese summers are just a bit too hot and humid for me. I like spending Autumn and Winter there when the tourists are few and the weather is brisk. :)

Licca is really popular in Asia so I'm sure there are probably lots of copies of her floating around. I know there are many copies of Takara Jenny dolls throughout Asia since I've come across some in China Town myself.

I've cleaned them numerous times but I can't manage their hair and you will find that Lady Licca's body is very damaged inside due to rusty wires or being buried in dirt for years (maybe both!). I'm sure they will enjoy their trip to Japan and I can't wait to see what you do with them. :)

colodio - What an interesting find. The Licca knock-offs look like a mix between Jenny & LIcca and the Barbie knock-offs sort of remind me of Fashion Royalty dolls.
