the apartment is officially mine, mine, mine. I signed the lease, handed over the money, got the keys, got another tour of the building, flirted with the broker, and then took measurements of every room.
A quick compare/contrast:
New apt LR: 11'9" x 20'4" = approx 240 sq feet (in addition
to the eat-in kitchen)
Old apt LR: 8'8" x 12'4" = approx 106 sq feet (and my
"dining room" is also in here)
ho-leeee crap.
