Very nice set.

I have a partial set of dolls for this festival. I actually had the box containing the set in my hands yesterday. Since I am not a girl, I don't usually remember the date of the festival. Even though it will be a little late, I should set it up next week and post a picture of it in honor of the Festival.

Here is a link to another photo of a doll festival set from my Flickr photos.

Thanks for your comments!

Ginny, they are もち(mochi, rice cake) made from glutinous rice. Two of them are piled up (they are not real ones, though).

born1945, I'm looking forward to seeing it!

Bruse, yes, they are. My parents bought them for me when I was elementary school student (yes, it's old!).

Here is the picture the whole. I don't have enough space to shoot them well. I managed to do it

Wow Shigemi I'm impressed! How exquisite they are! They are really beautiful, so detailed and all carry different instruments/objects.
Your father must love you very much:-)
You should all shoot them seperately in close up, They are precious.
So do you have them on display all year, or just for this celabration.
Would be a shame to have them locked away.
Thank you for sharing these!

I think you did well getting them all in one shot. It is interesting to see how they are all displayed.

Thank you very much, Peter and trykemom!

They are not displayed all year.
In my case, I display them from 2nd or 3rd of March to 4th. I have 2 reasons. The one is because they take up a lot of space. Another is that cats are curious. When they were yonger, they really liked to play with the dolls and so on. Piesk's mother (died in 2004) play with a doll's head which separated from its body when she had dropped the doll from the tiered stages :-( So, the door of the room is closed while the dolls are displayed, although it is usually open.
