tomato ice cream @ Zest Japanese Cuisine![]() ![]() "This is a reminder that tomato belongs to a group of fruits. Tomato is cooked and marinated in syrup, with vanilla ice cream sandwiched in the middle, and accompanied with home-made red wine sauce." ($6)
*KIREI~~~* So this is the dessert I saw last time that the table next to us got!!! But at the time, it was served in the coolest thing *ever*! Like a 45-degree slanted black bowl... aaargh, I can't describe it. It just looks very nice~~~ I guess it was hard to fit this thing into the bowl so they changed it to simple white plate now?! The dessert itself certainly stood out a lot more this way though~ And it was SO GOOD!!! But I still kinda wish I could've taken a photo of that slanted black bowl... Oh yeah, and the tomato ice cream was quite delicate to cut... no wonder they gave us a set of fork and knife... haha~ Recently rated as one of the 10 best new restaurants of 2005, Zest serves pretty decent Japanese food. I would've loved to go there more often though, especially when it's located so close to my home, if it's not that expensive... somehow we always ended up a bit shocked by the bill thinking that it's just a simple Japanese dinner...
