That is lovely, Phil... I especially love the backlighting. I've been wanting to do that with my setup for awhile now:

Why not run the MacBook with the lid up and have two monitors?

How well does the MacBook Pro perform with the 30" ACD connected? I'm thinking about picking one up along with Aperture for the 15" MBP I'm getting, but I'm a bit concerned it's not going to be quick enough for it. (and I'm not sure if it's worth paying two times what the 23" costs for it either)

Nice setup! And where can I get that wallpaper? It's great!

joeclark: I use VirtueDesktops and actually run 3 desktops. The 30 is big enough that I don't need the 17 open, and the 3 virtual desktops work great.

Andrew: I've not noticed any in normal use. I play WoW once in a while, and it works fine in a window, even a large window. Full-screen is fine too, if I close most open programs. The 17 has a 256 MB video card, which is more than enough unless you are doing video editing or high-end gaming.

Reinier - the wallpaper is from DigitalBlasphemy.com - a great site. They have high-res wallpaper for the 30.
