Frosty morning in Ardington

Frosty morning in Ardington

I know I have been neglecting both Flickr and indeed the camera the last few months. Over Christmas and the New Year I took virtually no photographs. I shall try to do better in 2012!

After a long, warmer-than-usual and overcast period, the weather changed and sent us a few beautiful, sunny and very cold mornings - one of the times the village looks at its best.

Ardington church and chuchyard on a frosty January morning

Ardington church and chuchyard on a frosty January morning

I've taken similar shots before, but one of the advantages of taking this view is that I only have to go out of the front gate!

Frost circles!

Frost circles!

The heavy frost on this fencepost manages to trace the outlines of the rings in the timber.

The track from Taithes

The track from Taithes

Years ago I had a 35mm compact camera with a panorama setting, and quite liked the results it gave. Since I went digital I've not taken many panorama shots, but there are times when they are needed to do justice to the scenery. Last August we had been staying at Taithes with the McLeans and left on a stunning early August morning. I later stitched together four shots I took on the track down to the main road and cropped them to produce this (which later we had printed on canvas for our hosts as a Golden Wedding gift.)
