Its very usable indeed.

Basically one of the buttons is mapped to manual focus zoom, so when taking a piccie, the cam zooms in x10 to allow fine tuning of the focus, you can then simply press the shutter button to take the pic.

Of course, you can also use the hyperfocal technique as all the markings are on the lenses too.

Its a wonderful bit of kit.
