Trip to the Bike Shop

Trip to the Bike Shop

If I had my way, I'd rearrange these perfectly and probably remove the yellow and white bikes. Didn't think the owner would appreciate that :P He did offer to remove the hang tags with prices though :)

Slight crop ~ Otherwise SOOC

Nice on black ~ Press "L" or Click the Pic

Chimney Fire ~ All Was OK

Chimney Fire ~ All Was OK

I just liked the look of the lights reflecting on the snow.

Kirk to Enterprise...come in Enterprise ~ Oil & Water ~ 9/52

Kirk to Enterprise...come in Enterprise ~ Oil & Water ~ 9/52

Oil & Water
Assignment 52 ~ Week 9
Third attempt. The sun came out so I gave this another whirl.

If I had the skills, I might be tempted to Photoshop the starship Enterprise somewhere on this.

Cropped, no color, contrast or brightness adjustments made. No gradient applied in Photoshop.

Water & oil on a glass plate, sunny window, suspended over a piece of blue and yellow striped paper. Blowing gently on the surface of the bubbles will rearrange them. If you end up with one giant bubble, just use a toothpick to rearrange/break them up.

These shots remind me of abstract paintings. It's amazing what you can do with a camera and a little creative ingenuity.

Handheld, manual focus, shot from above the plate straight down.

Wishing for a close-up lense now :( Did my best with the macro setting, good, but not the same as a true close-up.

Oil & Water
Assignment 52 ~ Week 9
Second attempt

Crop and a slight sharpen on this one. No color, contrast or brightness adjustments made. No gradient applied in Photoshop. This is simply the rainbow effect from the CD. These shots remind me of abstract paintings. It's amazing what you can do with a camera and a little creative ingenuity.

Water & oil on a glass plate, suspended over a CD, halogen light from the side. If you look closely you can see the CD reflection in a couple of the smaller bubbles. Blowing gently on the surface of the bubbles will rearrange them. If you end up with one giant bubble, just use a toothpick to rearrange/break them up.

I love the colors here but personally like the natural light version shown below better.

Macro setting, handheld, manual focus, shot from above the plate straight down.

First attempt. Ever.

Cropped, no color, contrast or brightness adjustments made. No gradient applied in Photoshop. These shots remind me of abstract paintings. It's amazing what you can do with a camera and a little creative ingenuity.

Water & oil on a glass plate, sunny window, suspended over a piece of blue and yellow striped paper. If you look closely you can see the pattern from the paper in a couple of the bubbles. Blowing gently on the surface of the bubbles will rearrange them. If you end up with one giant bubble, just use a toothpick to rearrange/break them up.

The sun is gone now for a couple days so I'll have to fine-tune this with artificial light. We'll see how that goes.

Macro setting, handheld, manual focus, shot from above the plate straight down.
