Cool picture, but vigentting (is that what it
is) on the top left ruins it... I think a
simple crop of the left side will still keep
all the interesting elements in the picture.
So...

Is the chopper in the sky or in your
trousers? Either way I can't see it.
Unfortunately I think it needs to be closer,
so if you did rent it especially for this
shot, as Xavier thinks, make sure the pilot
flies lower next time.

Nice idea and I like the diagonal formed by
the legs coming in from the bottom right
but...
1) the helicopter is too small to make any
real contribtion(OK, maybe that's the idea).
In fact imagine the photo without the
helicopter - it seems like a more coherent
image to me.
2) there's just too much negative space on
the left - it unbalances teh composition. You
could do with a tighter crop
3) the banding in the sky on the top left
is very distracting

Crikey... lots of criticism above. Can you
move the earth to the left please, would make
a more interesting photo.
I'm not usually this frank and have
deference for my fellow photogs. However,
considering it is a spontaneous photo (heli
passing), one cannot expect you to have
instructed the pilot to have flown lower.
The distortion in the corners offer framing
and makes it interesting.
The world is long on critics, but short on
artisits and visionaries. Churchill was an
enimantly unpopular politcian with his fellow
MPs. How will he be remembered... how will
they?
I like it. Keep soldiering on kiddo.

frankly, the helicopter is too small; it
comes across looking like a speck in the sky
that you should have photoshopped out.

man, I think the small speck is the whole
point of the picture!
Its very cool!

@yomama: The quality of a photo often depends
on circumstances outside the control of the
photographer. This can be a good or a bad
thing.
You seem to suggest that the photographer
should get full credit for the fact that a
helicopter accidentally flew into his shot
(the good side of chance) but should be
immune to criticism that addresses the
unfortunate accidents, i.e. the helicopter is
far away, digital processing introduced
flaws, and the subject isn't looking at the
helicopter.
The image is what it is, regardless of how
it was produced. If you get lucky, and catch
a perfect shot, great! If you're unlucky,
and it's slightly less than perfect, that's
sad.
By the way, an alternative to moving the
entire earth to the left would be to move the
photographer to the right. Or tell the woman
in the picture to pivot right.

Like this photo a lot, a bit of a shame that
she's not looking directly at the helicoptor,
but it's still a great perspective.

@ zadignose;
I imagine the picture was framed impromptu
because there was a helicopter flying past,
not that the heli happened to fly into a shot
of someone looking skyward as seen from
below. Perhaps?
For me, anyway, the small heli gives a
greater perspective of height... implies the
subject's own small space in the universe??
Bit of existential angst?
We each have our own taste, or the world
would be a boring place. I tend to like
photos that aren't squared, typical,
centred.. etc. It's a left brain thing.
Best, yomama
PS I like your pics and wish you well.

I think that deleteme group sounds awful. I
love this picture and I think the thing in
the left makes it even more interesting.
