Photographic Lighting and Post Processing Workshop III

Date: Sunday, July 26, 2009
Time: 9am - 5pm
Venue: Studio Phos Graphis, 16 Olive Street, Dona Petrona Subd., QC

A photography workshop offering the full packagage! The whole course includes:

- hands-on workshop on basic ambient and controlled lighting
- basic guide on production shoots and model shoots
- tips on selection and output of best work
- post processing techniques

This is the third run of the workshop, with the first two successfully meeting participants' expectations. The workshop basically teaches students the basics of getting into commercial photography; thus, very ideal for hobbyists who would like to accept gigs and projects from time to time. As with the first two sessions, a model shoot will be held during the workshop.
The fee package also includes lunch and drinks.

What to bring:

Camera with full manual controls (DSLR preferred)
Laptop with Photoshop CS3 installed
An open mind

Earth, Wind & Fire

After a long wait, I'm slowly working on my third installment of the Smoke Art Series. The theme for this batch revolves around The Universe beginning with this photo of "Earth, Wind & Fire".

This will be an ongoing project. I will post more images from time to time, if and when the inspiration and creativity flows into me.

From 178 lbs to 159 lbs. It feels good to lose the extra pounds. If you're going to ask me what I did, it's diet, brown rice and pineapple juice, without exercise (which I plan to do later).

The month's theme was based on the song and I had a bit of a problem with this because for one thing, I am not nationalistic. And for another thing, I flunk Filipino. Suffice to say, this theme didn't make me feel very excited. So I just took photos from my stock and took advantage of the fact that for this, photoshop was not prohibited in the contest.

On the day they were to judge the photos at my club one of my five entries earned the second spot. Now, all photos that make top place were supposed to be entered into the inter-club photo-contest this time (Photo World Cup). The other day, I received a text message from a well-meaning friend who told me that another photo of mine which the club submitted actually made it to FIRST PLACE! This means that this photo took the top spot among all the other photos submitted by other clubs vying for Photo World Cup.

It was unexpected because I only had a goal of ranking within my own club. I thought ranking inter-club was unachievable yet because I know how tough competition is. So, this is a welcome surprise and I couldn't be more grateful.
