Do I need to cook the ingredients before pouring into the jars?
souvenirs du passé récent 8 months ago | reply
yep, you do! you cook the ingredients, first on high and then turn the heat down an let simmer. in the mean time you put some sterilized jars ready.
turn the heat up again until the fruits are boiling, fill the jars while the mixture is very hot. screw the lids on immediatly and then turn the jars upside down and place them on a cooling rack. as they cool down the lids of the pots should 'click' so that the pots are closed air-tight. when you google 'making preserves without canner' you can find more info on this process.

Ahhhh these do look incredible! I'll be making them for my family for Christmas.
I was wondering how you got the smooth consistency? Did you blend the mixture or did the fruit just break down afterwards?
Thanks so much for sharing your treats!

the fruit breaks down during the cooking!
