powering women's golf

This was a shoot I did many, many weeks ago. We had been commissioned by a very large petroleum company to put together a quick campaign that was sponsoring women's golf. Naturally, since this job was 'needed yesterday', yours truly found himself one morning face-down on a golf course, dodging stray balls, golfers & golfcarts.

Fun nonetheless.

haha...thanks all. Yeah, it was quite odd. I had to run down to a sports shop and buy a pack of pink balls as well and everytime I was about to do the shot, I was looking around quickly just incase someone was taking particular aim. We literally had the ad off to print that afternoon. ;)

I'm terrible at it. I've tried it twice and the first time was when I had just matriculated from high-school and a friend of mine's father offered to take us for a game. On the first hole, my first driving shot, I got a birdie (not a Mr. Peep of course)...and on beginner's luck.
However, straight after that I think every living thing on that golf course was in immediate peril. My friend's father got almost hit twice, including myself from one that ricocheted off a nearby tree and some dodgy dude sold me back at least 10 of my own balls I had previously lost in the same game.

I was good on the green, mind you.
But that's just putt-putt, really. :)

I do have to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of golf. BUT, I am a huge fan of put-put! Oh the many games I've played against family members during the many trips to Florida. :)

yeah...I love putt-putt....especially the more elaborate, the better! There's an extremely difficult one in Cape Town with a pirate theme and all...like walking through caves and ship-wrecks. Just a lot of fun!

I love this! This is perfect for a women's golf ad. I love the composition and the perspective and the PINK. I get the sense that *I* am the ball, and that someone is about to whack me and send me on a long journey.

I'll bet you had fun lying there in that soft grass... I miss grass!

thanks all....yeah, it's funny. There's quite a few jobs that I've done in the past where one has to adapt to whatever the brief wants. Most of what's on Flickr's just me and my preferences, but it's nice to break the perceptive mould every once in a while...so to speak.

Great capture! Now I see what the comments were about on Saturday. Here's a golfing experience I don't want to repeat in a hurry.... teeing off at Malmesbury course and I whack this ball as hard as I can with a four ball of women waiting right behind me..... the ball drops gently off the tee about an inch. I just wished that ground would open up and swallow me! Needless to say all I heard behind me was suppressed laughter and some helpful comments. I reconcile myself now to making celebrity appearances once in a while on a golf course to provide the entertainment..... ;-)
