Closest I got to a wild parrot. Of course, Uma's feeding schedules allows me to predict which ones come when. And I guess they got used to my camera.

As I have been doing in the past few weeks I labour over the shots - manual focussing, adjusting ISO, altering the DOF, watching the background and so on. Very unlike me. And it still has not given me any creative inspiration.

As I am running short of ideas and subjects for photography, I was forcing myself to go back to basics for full manual adjustment of focus, depth of field, speed, iso etc.It is not surprising but still found it to be a heck a lot of work clearly showing me how lazy I am as a photographer. Makes me really appreciate to work of good photographers who do all this instinctively and at the same time engage their mind on the selection of the subject, composition and importantly the definitive moment.

... but I think this is my best yet. Tool a lot of time working out various combinations.

...yet again. Anytime we visit Vedanthangal it is not only the birds that we look forward to but these playful monkeys too. I realised I have quite a few pictures of them. Here is one more.

But today we went with Uma's mother and Uma didn't get to play with them like other times.

Didn't have much time to experiment with various settings. The best I could manage was this. The moon does not really become fully dark as the shadow covers it.

I am not sure whether Flickr is showing the colours properly. It is not doing it a least on my monitor. In the original, I had a dull orange gradient in the shadow region.
