madeline tosh sock yarn - kale

madeline tosh sock yarn - kale by flint knits.
I want to squeeeeeeeeeeze it all day long. What pattern, do you think? I think it might be too variegated to make good lace...

I love yours, but how stretchy are they? I have high insteps, so cables and chevron patterns don't always work... (e.g. I can't wear Jaywalkers)

Bummer!!! I haven't tried them on yet, so I don't know how stretchy they are.

all the madtosh at sandrasingh.com used to be marked down from $24 to $18. which is why i am hugging so many skeins. looks like it's back up to $24. shite. why didn't i get some cheap kale when i had the chance??

Really? I only just bought this skein after you started the group -- the price must have gone up, like, yesterday.

Thanks! Hmm, maybe Leyburns... I'm scared of starting fancy lace and finding the yarn's not solid enough...

If I had that yarn, I would use it as a stress therapy toy during the day and a pillow during the night. That way the squeezing would be 24/7.

that is so pretty - you may be right on the lace though- you'd have to (gasp) do up a swatch and see how it behaves....

I think a lace pattern with a relatively small repeat would probably work -- say, Child's First Sock.

I also think that would make a stunning pair of Charades.

Um, yah, what were you saying about being afraid that the New Year's Day socks wouldn't fit you?.....
