Thanks guys =) It's even more difficult to find film packs...specially the SX-70. Thankfully I have some 600 film packs yet.
mistral_mars (44 months ago | reply)
Yeah, I love that camera… I have it, along with a 600 Extreme. 600 film packs can be easily modified to fit the Polaroid 1000/SX-70 cameras ;-)
Paine666 (44 months ago | reply)
I tried the trick but the pictures came out a lot blurry :-s. Not sure if that's because there's something wrong inside the camera or didn't modified the 600 film properly...help!

Mine came out pretty well. But you can't expect extreme detail and sharpness from a Polaroid 1000 anyway, epecially in close portraits since it doesn't have the portrait mode… Actually, I had read several tutorials on how to modify the cartridge. Most saying to cut off the two plastic pins in the middle, but mine wouldn't fit so I cut the four pins and it just worked. But you have to "hack" the meter's calibrating wheel inside as well, otherwise, the pictures will be highly overexposed.
It's very simple to achieve, but you have to be careful removing the camera's front panel.
There's a tutorial here : www.polaroid-passion.com/forum/viewtopic.php? t=1323
It's in french but I can help translate if you need…
Paine666 (44 months ago | reply)
I will definitely need some help on how to remove that part of the camera...I'm affraid of breaking it :-p
mistral_mars (44 months ago | reply)
Yeah, I was afraid too but it comes off gently if you're careful.
Here's an english tutorial I finally found in my bookmarks ;-)

If you need, I have the french, simpler one translated and ready as a pdf…

i want one soooo baddd
mistral_mars (38 months ago | reply)
@kerby : just go get one ;-) They are so cheap people are nearly giving them away. Lately I found two of them for a total of 3 euros! That makes me three Polaroid 1000 for a total amount of 5 euros... And now that the new Polaroid films are out for 600 and SX-70 (Paine : no need to modify your camera anymore!) prices may go up again so it's now or never! ;-)
mistral_mars (37 months ago | reply)
See ? You just have to get up early and go get some ;-)
kerbysdreamworld (37 months ago | reply)
haha, idk where to buy one besides like ebay.
mistral_mars (37 months ago | reply)
Just do yard sales. That's where I find 'em. eBay is just the most expensive place…
Paine666 (37 months ago | reply)
I would like to purchase a Polaroid camera with smaller focus range than my 600OneStep and 600 Classic.
mistral_mars (37 months ago | reply)
SX-70 model is nice for that. Dunno about the big autofocus Polaroid cameras... They may be worth a try, though, since SX-70's are pretty expensive...
