I made a "loopy" square movement with the swivel on the tripod with a 1 sec shutter aimed at the Christmas tree lights to produce this "musical notes" effect.

This is my last Christmas light abstract, for now. We're putting up the ornaments today, so I'll have a new landscape to aim at! Putting up the ornaments is something we still all do together, and even with 5 of us it takes a couple of hours. I have been a bit obsessive, to say the least, with buying my wife many ornaments each year...so we completely fill an 8' tree and a 5' tree. I think maybe we'll put on Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol while we're doing the trim...
