This is a more dramatic treatment of the Iraq war memorial (Arlington West) at Santa Monica beach, California.
The title is from the movie "Jarhead", although it has probably been said by people for the last 10,000 years.

I remember when I was 12 going to war cemeteries in Normandy for the American, English, French and German people - an incredible site and this reminds me so much of that time that I can still see the sun shining off the headstones

More people died during two weeks of the Civil War than have died in the 10 years we've been in Iraq. Keep that little factoid in your head. War happens. Period. It's been happening since the dawn of man. Until you take away our free will, you will always have war. It's ugly, but it's a fact.

As sensless as it may seem it is very necessary. We just have to thank God we now have a 100% voluntary military. And thank the kids who have the balls to go over there and step up front.
