Each war is different, each war is the same

#298 in Explore, 10/30/2007 -- Thanks SO MUCH friends and visitors.

This is a more dramatic treatment of the Iraq war memorial (Arlington West) at Santa Monica beach, California.

The title is from the movie "Jarhead", although it has probably been said by people for the last 10,000 years.

Amazing and thought provoking shot. Reminds me of the time when I was a child and my parents took me to one of the memorial parks in Eruope with the crosses marking the graves of thosands of young allied soldiers from WW2.

My Grandfather was in WW2, my father in Vietnam, I was in Dessert Storm, and my son now serves in Iraq. Never Forget that each soldier is a person that needs support from home ... regardless of political views.

    Excellent job.

The book I'm currently reading is called "The War of the World" about the 20th century being the one with the greatest losses and atrocities due to war being fought all over the world -- makes you wonder whether it will ever stop....
