Sydney Harbour Bridge and North Sydney at dusk

Sydney Harbour Bridge and North Sydney at dusk

[53/366] This is a fifteen second exposure which has resulted in slightly blurry clouds and water. In the background, you can see a boat that has drawn a line across the horizon with its flashing lights and trailing amber light!

Linotype Works, Broadheath, Altrincham

Linotype Works, Broadheath, Altrincham

[52/366] This is the Linotype Works building in Broadheath near Altrincham. It's a great old building, sitting on the bank of the Bridgewater canal and I thought it thoroughly deserved a black and white treatment.

Tiled surface of the Sydney Opera House

Tiled surface of the Sydney Opera House

[51/366] When you first see the Sydney Opera House, it's quite a surpise that it is not white - it's a light beige colour. As you get closer, you get another surprise and you can see why it's coloured as it is, due to the fact that it is tiled in hundreds of beige and grey tiles that form complex pattern across the surface. It's quite beautiful to view close-up. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sydney_Opera_House

Bollington from White Nancy

Bollington from White Nancy

[50/366] This picture was taken on a walk up to White Nancy. White Nancy is a folly built in 1817, originally as a summer-house and to commemorate victory at the Battle of Waterloo. It sits on top of the Saddle of Kerridge and from it there are great views across the Cheshire plains. For more information, see the wikipedia page: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Nancy
