Street with cottages, Grasmere

Street with cottages, Grasmere

[64/366] This is the street that Wordsworth's house is on - it's the white building that can just be seen to the right, however it's actually not as impressive as the rest of the street. I think that the mountain at the end of this street is Calf Crag! This picture was taken on a walk from Grasmere town around Grasmere and Rydal and back. It took in the Coffin Route from Grasmere to Rydal with some excellent views of the lakes from lovely, easy-to-reach, vantage points!

Footbridge and stream, New Forest

Footbridge and stream, New Forest

[62/366] This is a stream running through the New Forest and the little foot-bridge that crosses it. It's a picture that I took on a weekend break to visit some friends we have who live in that beautiful part of the country.

Rainow and Snowy Peaks from White Nancy

Rainow and Snowy Peaks from White Nancy

[61/366] This picture was taken on a walk up to White Nancy. White Nancy is a folly built in 1817, originally as a summer-house and to commemorate victory at the Battle of Waterloo. It sits on top of the Saddle of Kerridge and from it there are great views across the Cheshire plains. For more information, see the wikipedia page: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Nancy

The mouth of Loch Roe

The mouth of Loch Roe

[60/366] This is the mouth of the sea-loch, Loch Roe, looking out to sea. The land-mass on the horizon is part of the more southerly mainland.
This picture was taken on a walk from Cathair Dhubh holiday cottages to Achmelvich, further south down the coast.
The walk was about four miles in total, as we walked through the village and up to the small craft shop, "Shake the Tree".
