How wonderful that I decided to look out my window today. You try it.
Saturday night. Sitting in my house looking at the computer... I have a Point Dume webcam that I check just about every day just before the sunset, to see what the cloud formations are looking like. I had already spent the weekend shooting and I was ready for a few days off sifting thru images and, you know, that other stuff that us photographers do. Organizing. Refining workflow. Sounds so exciting, doesn't it. Not. Well, when I peeked at the ocean webcams.... wow.... great conditions were brewing. I had just dismantled my tripod and was cleaning out the legs, my tripod legs love to eat sand... then they stop working, she's a tired tripod... her legs aren’t what they used to be. Quickly I assembled the tripod, cleaned up all camera glasses and was off to the pier. No traffic, how wonderful. 18 photographic trips to this place, this is the sunset that I dreamed of. See! This is what I call an 8 GIG sunset. Been a while since I filled up a SCAN DISK card in one sitting :) Yummy. Lots of magic this day... and I eat magic for breakfast.
