My written Chinese
This is my (successful) attempt at communicating in written Chinese when I was in Shanghai
My intention was to say the following:
"Chinese year (different from) foreign year
I was born in January 1980 -> foreign year
My Chinese year?
1980?
1979?"
I asked this to a monk in a Taoist temple, where I wanted to know which of the 60 available "Gods of Time" (one for each year, in rotation) saw to my birth. As I suspected, it was the 1979 god.
