Boxing kangaroos 2

Boxing kangaroos 2 by aaardvaark.
This closer-up shot is to show the claws that I would not want to tangle with. They keep their heads out of range as far as they can, with good reason.

More notes under Boxing Kangaroos 1.

I've posted this to QEMDFinch after a comment by LALassie that you don't see many roos standing up tall! These guys sure got as high as they could get. Although this is the closest shot in this series I think one or two of the others are better, so suggest a quick look at the set (Boxing Kangaroos).

Pierre not sure what you mean by spread quickly? Do some photos replicate virus-like in the night?

What a great shot!

I came across this image after seeing it used in a story on Wired's "Threat Level" blog. FYI, the story is here: blog.wired.com/27bstroke6/2008/01/comedian-st arts.html

hoju - thanks for the reference to the blog, I was mystified why people were suddenly looking at this photo! And I appreciate seeing it used in that way, on a matter of political discussion, even if it is not edifying behaviour the bloggist is drawing attention to.

Rare shot you've got there, I've lived on a farm all my life surrounded by hundreds of roo's in nearby bush land and have never seen them fighting, ever.

I've seen roo's missing a foot, ears, top jaw and blind but never seen them fight.

Keep up the great work!

Hi aaardvark, excellent shot, again I love the colours and it is so clear.

I have also one looks similar. It is one of the first photos I took with my 300D so not the greatest. Surprisingly it has had the most views, boxing kangaroos seem to be quiet popular for some reason as I see you have had over 4,000 views.
