Bono in Mali

Bono in Mali by Oxfam America.
Bono, standing with Oxfam policy advisor Sally Baden in the Dafara Village of Mali, holds up a Make Trade Fair t-shirt. Bono's recently visited West Africa to speak with cotton farmers and bring more attention to how agriculture subsidies affect cotton prices in Africa.

When Ali Farka Toure, the late mayor of Niafunke in Mali said that he didn’t support Live 8 because he wasn’t interested in being used as a political pawn. Bono’s response? “If he doesn’t reckon Live 8 are helping his people, maybe they should rethink him being mayor.”
Ali Farka Toure understood his own people more and helped them more than anyone. A typical piece of self righteous rubbish from Bono.
