Is this a sign? If so, where did you see it?

I may have to remove you from my contacts. I'm not sure I can be seen mixing with your low, criminal sort.

Well, considering how often we're at odds regarding KitKat flavors, I thought you would've figured out what you were dealing with.

So did you cause an accident, or were you fingerprinted simply for being noticed driving the wrong way up a one-way street? Was it one of those tiny backstreets that few people use anyway?

No accident. And as stupid as it sounds, there was a cop standing right there. And there's a koban there, too. I still don't know of any signs anywhere that let one know not to go through there (little skinny street). Saw one once I was on the street and stopped, but one can't see that sign from the street where one would turn from. I asked if this was common and the cop said a LOT. Happened a LOT (repeated it twice to make his point known). And I'm thinking... well, maybe there's a problem w/ signage, folks!!!

Oh, well, I've been branded and fined 7000 yen for my oversight. Pfah. Must've been the 3rd or 4th time I've been down that street ;) Guess it's about time they caught up w/ me since their office is RIGHT THERE.

Ah, well. Guess I just gotta pay more attention :P

It sucks getting finger printed for traffic violations, which would be a civil infringement. They should only finger print people for criminal violations. I've heard it's not the case though.

It is hard to have a sense of humor about any of this. It's not just insulting, but leaves me to wonder if and when there is a terrorist attack here by 'foreigners,' what will the national government's next move be where foreigners in general and permanent residents are concerned? I am trying to get the answer to that now. They need to know we don't trust THEM anymore either. I've lived here for nearly thirty years. This policy is an outright betrayal, though I cannot discern clearly whether it derives its momentum from simple stupidity or genuine evil. Good work on this. We need to get the word out.
