One of my favorite photo sites was horribly scarred recently. All the bizarre graffiti had been painted over, and the spooky overgrown foliage had been hacked away. A once-interesting abandoned eyesore is now a plain, boring, poorly maintained eyesore.

But look! One of the landscapers left a machete behind! Now I've got another goodie to add to my collection, along with the hubcap, toxic plastic blob, and malaria. So, the day wasn't a total loss.
