Gatecrasher On Fire 3

get more out the sky maybe?
and the smoke?
Yup. It was done in an old version of Aperture which was rubbish. Once i've sorted the folio i'll take em all into LR and redo.
careful ladies... this could get nasty... we don't want to be branded as manipulators do we?
an ND grad would have helped just because of the lack of tonal range.

I think a lightroom edit, and maybe a tad more contrast will sort it out tho
enhancement not manipulation, therein lies the rub
thats what she said...
You won't be able to see the feckin sky for notes soon.
she didn't say that

Well i heard them say something about asbostos....and afterwards my chest was a bit tight. But i think that was just from running round the cordons :)

So the camera worked for more than 5 minutes, that must be a new record :-)

Good job it's environmentally sealed, wouldn't want water in it stopping the error99's :-D

I wish I'd got closer now, although using b/w means I've got some playing to do to make the smoke stand out

do you mean asbestos?! would be quite a shock after the huge renovation (where it should have been discovered and removed) bout 4 years back... a lot of my childhood (16-19) was spent in this place!! I say I lot.. was basically the place we ended up on a friday night... lot of memories...

love the kid on the bike! checking out the guy with the camera phone as if he's worried he's the subject or something!!

@Lanky - I know...i used it all day and it never missed a beat :P But yeah its a really wicked camera. I'd taken some of my students to Cleethorpes for the day beforehand. I'll try to get permission to use some of the images of students cos they are cool. Got some great polaroids from Cleethorpes too! will scan em tonight.

@ JD - Thats funny you picking me up on spelling :P I'd had more than a few beers by the time i uploaded!!

Don't really know about the asbostos (spelt wrong for comic effect!), that was being said anyway!!

I know...there's a great fire and he's so worried about his pic being taken that he missed me taking him instead!!

Oh and the girl at the front with the green strapped bag had a 5D like yours....she wanted my lens though (looked like she had some old manual prime on there)!

This is a depressing scenario, but a gorgeous shot. The smoke looks so thick...like gray cotton.

Good shot!

I'll let you off on both I suppose. It's not like the old 'zoom with your feet' is much use when South Yorkshire's finest want you to be using an ultrawide

in a word.. yes.

just the fact the sky isn't blow out anymore makes it a world better... now get rid of that sensor dust. and maybe crop the person out who's crept into the frame to the left hand side

Shit...thought that was some crap on my screen. Its gone quite blotchy in places, you don't know sometimes if its the exposure or the display.

I couldn't remember if there was more space below the hand before was all... I remember those times... so much simpler a strap could help improve your photography

actually there was more space. This is the frame before. Slightly different exposure, not blown as much. But there's not much extra space at the bottom. I'd prefer the better exposure.

And hey look...its my one and only shot in HCSP!
