Art Room Brushes

Art Room Brushes by Mark-Lomas.
Taken on Polaroid 59 with a Speed Graphic 4x5 press camera and a Graphex 135mm f4.7 lens. It seems 6 month expired type 59 has some real colour shifts!

like it ;)
very strong image (both bottom and top sides of the image work on their own)
and the colours are good... its a little bit like EXTREME sx-70 colouring (I think I might actually shoot some of mine tomorrow... I'm such an ass)!

I've got the money sat in paypal now to get my large format :) well I've got £250 there and a little more if need be. wish I'd have got that MPP micro technical thingy... :(

Cheers both :)

I wasn't sure when i first took it but it is growing on me quite a bit! I think the original looks a bit bluer actually. But yeah its SX-70 on steroids!

JD i can't wait til you and RD get 4x5 cams...so its not just me with knackered shoulders all the time!

Oh and i finally won the bid on a Schneider Super Angulon 90mm f5.6 wide for the Cambo too! Architecture photography here i come :)

Don't worry outallnight, beauty such as this has just shifted xbox360 and 42" hdtv funds towards the Linhof side :-)

I get the feeling my colour developing might turn out a little like this, which could be a lot of fun on 4x5 sheet

42"?! I remember the days when a 14" portable was an extravagance!

But you both gotta get em...it'll be fun! By the way whats the possibility of developing this stuff? I fancy doing some film making...maybe i could film the odd looks we'd get of the 3 of us walking round town with large format cams :)

It shouldn't be too hard, I keep getting drawn towards polavision, but always drag myself away before I get sucked in.

Making proper films would be cool

More reason to finish my darkroom

I'm just stuck on the decision thing now... I've found another MPP on ebay but its without a lens and board, but its only £150 and good nick (rangefinder needs fixing tho)... just don't know what to do?

Dunno, i saw one currently at £50 that had no lens + board and had the cam missing from the RF and one for £150 with no lens that was a really early model. The one at £50 had a home made ground glass which i'd assume isn't a fresnel! And i couldn't see the rear hood in the pics. The one at £150 just seems a bit old and not the best.

Yea its probs the same tatty camera @ 150... I've started looking at new kits at about 700... Should i just flog all my digital stuff get a ricoh, new lf and maybe a new lens for the kiev? Soooo tempted... Or maybe i could in half way and get a 40d?

I wouldn't bother then to be honest. Not sure it even had a graflok back!

Erm dunno....up to you really but i'd keep a digi, if you ever get any event stuff then its just easier ain't it. I'd go LF, lens for kiev and....err...build a studio :P
