Steam Engine in the Rain

Near the driveway to the former home of Marshall "Carbine" Williams sits this very large stationary steam engine. I am almost 6' tall and my head comes up to the center of the axle for the flywheel! Godwin NC.

Cape Fear

Abandoned barge on the "Mighty Cape Fear." It has been partially submerged here just South of the Highway 24 bridge as long as I can remember.

Hay Street

The middle of old "downtown" Fayetteville NC, pronounced "Fedvul!" I have always heard this building called the "Slave Market," but I really doubt slaves were ever sold here. It is actually an English style "Market House" where farm produce was sold. BUILT IN 1832, it is the only example in the US.
