Peter Norman Day Street Party
A street party in Leamington Lane, Newtown to both celebrate the life of Peter Norman (1942 - 2006) and to petition the local council to amend the noise barriers so that the mural can be seen from the trains that pass alongside the laneway (as was the case previously). Norman was the Australian silver medallist who stood in support with Tommie Smith and John Carlos as they made their famous Black Power salute.
