The BristleBot is a vibrobot with an agenda.

It's built with a vibrating pager motor and the busines end of a toothbrush that has slanted bristles.

i think i speak for the majority of people when i say we could all use one of these - its a wonder nobody has ever thought of this before.

does it clean surfaces as it goes? ;-)

edit: watched the video... to really make it fun add some paint or graphite powder and a surface on which to record it's crazy little movements below.!

That's an interesting idea. Graphite would work well, but be messy... paint would slow it down.

I was wondering what useful and constructive purpose i could find for all my old toothbrushes. This doudles as a way to use my old phones as well!

You can get the motor out of most any pager or old phone you have lying about (I recently went on a phone hunt in my house and found 9 that i pulled apart). Alternatively, you may find the vibrating motor at a local electronics surplus shop. My local one has a box full of them on the counter.

    Good luck!
