At the Pacific Rim Origami retreat, I regaled some friends with my recipe for Spam Balls in Sparkling Aspic.
Some would say the idea is more delicious than the dish. They would be right.

I am a bit curious now. What are spam balls? (especially since Kalami seems to adore them).
Is it something like "ham"?

Sorry for answering Hannelores question, but maybe I can help... Spam is a kind of Frühstücksfleisch, you can buy in Germany...

Thanks Kalami. I will check next time when I am in Germany.

In French terms, Spam has the consistency of a country paté. It is made from ground smoked ham and pork, flavored with cloves and tinned in aspic . KInd of an acquired taste, but in some countries (the US, the UK and South Korea leap to mind), it has quite a following.
As Kalami hints, Spam has a mythos all of its own.

Thanks a lot for the illumination. Yesterday evening I've already read the Monty Python's sketch about Spam but the video is definitely more amusing.
