Seljalandsfoss is one of Icelands most beautiful waterfalls. It´s not the highest or mightiest but the fact that you can walk behind it makes it special. It is clearly visible from Icelands main ring road, first as a distant small white streak but grows ever larger as you approach the beautiful Eyjafjallajökull glacier, from which the river flows from.
The river is a fresh water river , not a glacier melt river. The cliffs in the mountains around Eyjafjallajökull, called Eyjafjöll, are covered with lush green vegetation from all the fertilizer which the nesting seabirds, which live there, bring to them.
This shot was taken on late evening on my way back to Reykjavík after a very successful photographic session around south and south-east Iceland with Lucie Debelkova.

On July i took a loooong walk up there on the plateau over the cliff. After a lot of walking and climbing i found a little glacier with absolutely no one.... in that moment i had the feeling of bein the only man who went there in the last years, such a GREA FEELING!!!

I'll never take a photo this spectacular, but it is nice to know someone can.
