Church Bathed in Northern Lights

During this visit to lake Þingvellir there was an exceptionally calm evening and clear skies. I fully enjoyed this shooting session and shot some of my finest photos this year.

This church is lies on a UNESCO world heritage site where the worlds first democracy was founded and lies on the rift between two continental plates.

Thanks for your comments. Just been looking through your northern lights picures and think this is my favourite - very difficult choice though -some fantistic shots. I definitely agree that the foreground is the key to interesting aurora pictures. Can't wait for nightime to come back to these lattitudes!
