Thank You. I knew there had to be a way that didn't start from creasing a crease pattern and forcing stuff in. Great job, when I have a minute free I will work through this.

Hmm... I've never folded a flagstone like this. I just do it one triangle twist at a time. Instead of doing those hexagon twists, they just kind of appear after I do the whole circle of triangle twists. It is really time consuming. I'll have to try it this way too.

Thanks a lot for the tutorial Joel. I've been asking for one and now you've finally made it. I'll try it right away.

I was able to follow the tutorial until the third picture of step 2 but the location of the second hexagon (on the 4th picture) is not clear to me and I am afraid of ruinning it. Any hints? A small cp maybe?

The second hexagon should line up right next to the first hexagon. If the triangle twist is close enough to the hex twist (right inside the periphery of the open-back) the next hexagon should start right at the edge of the first.

Ok I understood and I am making some progress.

I have one question. Do you precrease the hexagonss or do you crease them as you "find" where they go?

I just crease those hexagons as I go.

I have been very busy but I've had some time to work on this. At the moment I have the center hexagon, the first round around it and a few hexagons on the next round.

It is looking too much like the 3.4.6.4. tessellation only with hexagons a little closer, wich I guess is the reason why this one is a flagstone, am I right?

I thought that after folding your simple flagstone I would be able to understand the method behind them and I would be able to do Syngola's Simple hexagons but so far I still haven't figured it out

Singola's Simple hexagons that you linked to is the same model as this tutorial.

Well it is so on the hexagon side but is it so on the rhombus side too? Because if it is so I must be doing something the wrong way.

There are no rhombi on the hexagon flagstone - you have linked to two completely different models.

Now I am embarrased. Syngola used the same paper for both and it got me confused into thinking that they were both the same model. Sorry for bothering you with my silly requests.
