What you're seeing is steel weld pipe (20" & 18" Dia. mostly) for a massive chilled water plant that supplies water for air conditioning in some downtown Baltimore buildings. The pipes will carry either very cold water or glycol. We've made 3 plants like this so far in town. One is under the parking lot of Camden Yards Stadium, and makes huge ammounts of ice during the night, which is melted during the day, to cool the water going to the stadium and convention center's AC systems. Now you know the rest of the story...
