Shots taken over a couple of minutes as a relief from the boredom of
revision. Then panic set back in as I remembered that I had an exam
the following day.
Thank you :-) Well, you're the person who first introduced me to multiplicity... They're college-level qualifications, the ones you need to get into university in the UK.
great picture, very confusing though lol and haha my exams are over now! =p and that ladybird earlier stayed on my shoe, i had to put it out the car window =)
very nice, ibanez are very good guitars, i've played a few recently and was very impressed, but im a fender man :P, and i've recently bought a fender telecaster :D
and i just noticed, all the people in this photo are you! score one for my crappy observation skills, good job though, it really looks fantastic!
Sorry to be a bore but can you explain to a novice how you acheive this effect? Use tripod and take multiple shots and then how do you merge them? Or is it one shot on very long exposure and you move around ?
Yes, take multiple separate shots using a tripod and being very careful not to move the camera whatsoever in between shots. Also set the camera to full-manual if you can to ensure that all your shots are exposed exactly the same, otherwise the photo can look very odd when you come to edit it with people being different lightnesses. Also if you can set the camera to manual focus and try to set an aperture that will get your whole shot in focus. That way, even if the aperture isn't quite small enough then at least your entire clone will be out of focus along with the rest of the picture so it looks more natural.
I have been trying this in photoshop and merging each photo in layers adjusting the opacity - however as I bring one image in the other fades out. I must be missing a step in the process - can you divulge ? Rich
Lol yes, you need to cut out the character and remove the background. The simplest way to do this is using the lasso tool with a moderate amount of feathering. A better way is to learn how masks work and do it that way instead.

Rick: Magic :-)
You use masks in photoshop. You can do it with the lasso tools as well, but by using masks you can afford to make mistakes.

So you take numerous separate shots or.... ?

Sorry, I didn't make that very clear did I :-P
