Waterfront View

Waterfront View by OneEighteen.
Aftermath from hurricane Ike. Sign from my house found floating on a piece of plywood in my neighbor's pool. The sign reads "A waterfront view is not a matter of life or death. It is much more important than that."

I feel you, our beach house in Surfside took quite a hammering. Let's hope for a speedy recovery for the Texas Gulf Coast.

Good thing you weren't in it. I think we got a tornado. Our neighbor's house had the front sucked off it and the next two houses were simply not there.

My condolences...I wondered what you had witnessed. My sister and family live in Houston, they left for Austin and still can't return.
Don't think they had too much damage, news is sketchy.

Ike visted my East Texas home as a TS, but it was pretty tame by then. Just some downed limbs on some big Post Oak Trees.

Yeah, that looks like a tornado. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Sorry to see. I spent my single days living on Repsdorph Road. Got married at Villa Capri. I'm sick to see the destruction. Hope you're back on your feet soon. We are without power in Humble, but had little damage to our home. Our neighbors did not fair as well.

Good luck!

Sorry about your house and possessions. I lived in Houston for more than ten years in the 80's and 90's. My wife and I were (and still are) mesmerized watching the live video coming over the Internet from KHOU TV on Friday, Saturday, Sunday.... It's devastating to see places you worked at (I worked in the Chase Tower a.k.a. Texas Commerce Tower all those years) and visited damaged so badly. The damage to Galveston is hard to believe. Best wishes!
