Liverpool Football Club Mock Homepage Design

Seeing as spend an enourmous amount of time on this site I thought I would have a quick blast at re-designing the Liverpool Football Club Homepage.

The current site feels out of date and crowded . This is not perfect by any means but gives a lot more room to the content and lets it breath. Also re-structured the grid layout to give a more cohesive flow to the content. Really wanted to focus on the content first and let the design flow around it. I also really wanted to avoid the cliched Premiership Football club designs as they all feel very generic and basically the same!

It would be great to hear any comments!! ;)

The existing website is over-faced with advertising or join liverpool facebook group - I like the fact yours still has advertising but is less obvious (maybe not preferred by advertisers) but much better for the user and I'd be more inclined to click your adds after reading the news and stuff.

Got to love the Museo, Im using it on my latest project.

Thanks for the comments Oliver. Yeah I tried to take the ad prominence down a bit as it is just full of them at the moment. I feel myself overusing Museo at the moment...hehe.

The overall IA of the site goes really well with the design. I like the main nav and the footer the most. The current site is really busy and its hard to focus on any one thing, theres also some font size issues happening as well. Nice work, I think liverpoolfc should take you up on this design :-).

Good stuff - as clean as it's going to be with an information heavy site. I think all top-flight clubs sites suffer from trying to sell too much to their fans - be it online viewing, corporate nonsense to the latest replica kits.

It would be nice for some of them to try and move away from this. But I'm not holding my breath ;-)
