@OiJimmy - How the color was done? I just painted it on in photoshop. It's sort of a pun. An abstracted no-smoking sign (look for a minute, it clicks...)

How the photo was done? Remote flash and a lot of trial and error.

I like the complicated pattern. Didn't see the sign until I read your remark. How should I rate it, though? As a painting it is interesting. As a photo, I like the sharp focus on the swirls.

A question I asked elsewhere in this group. At what point in the photoshopping would you stop calling an image a photo and begin to call it a digital painting?

A good question that is. Myself I think this crosses the line, I stuck it on flickr a as a joke for the locals. But then it started to get favs out of nowhere. It's a tricky question; there's no black or white, it's all gray area.

Wonderful. I like the idea and you manage to capture quite a lot of detail in the smoke. It was probably not particularly easy to achieve the effect, and you managed it while retaining sharpness.

The downer for me is that the picture is a lot busier to the left, leaving a bit of a vacuum in the right hand side.

Great exposure shot, I guess with the amount of smoke this was a multi-second piece? I am guessing the colouring is due to post picture editing, but it adds a lot to the pic.

      Great picture.

Very eerie effect, composition is balanced, kinda has a jumbled pattern look. Not quite out of the park, but definitely worth a look or two.

Ha ha - the ban is in force in Scotland now too :-(

Thankfully I'm not there anymore :-)

Great shot - and having tried this myself, wasted a pack and got nowhere, I know how difficult this really is.

i hate this crazy ban... What can we do ? All smokers should smoke only electronic cigarette in public places... would be lovely to see the officials attitude on that.
