Have you?

Have you? by Olivander.
It's time to make a mid-course election correction.

Even if you're disgusted by the candidates of both major parties, go to the polls and vote for the Greens, the independents, the Commies, the Whigs, whoever. Let's push this two-party system over a cliff and show our support for the other guys!

:-) I thought I would create some stickers for the next election, after watching all those crap commericals on the tube where they slash each other instead of simply saying, "Vote for me" so the stickers will read...

I didn't vote for any of those schmucks who were on TV or made prerecorded calls to my house.

Gads - I'm glad it's almost over!!

I got to vote on the new machine this year.

I'm not much of a democrat (or anything really), but I've never been happier to have them back in control of things! Hide your babies and taxible income ;-) The republicans warned me!

When someone I was talking to brought up "tax-and-spend" Democrats, I asked them, "Which is worse? Tax-and-spend, or dont-tax-and-spend?" I think that made them stop and think about their soundbite for the first time.

I saw no one using the voting machines where I voted. People preferred to stand in line and use the paper ballots. In the end, the ballots were all fed into an optical reader anyway, so I'm not sure how much more accurate they were.

I don't want to go into a rant about my politics here. Let's just say that both major parties have me so disappointed that I ended up voting for more independents than ever before. The donkeys and the elephants are locked into an archaic mindset that's overriding common sense and causing bad, bad laws to be written and nothing productive to be done.

Government should be all about bettering the lives of its citizens, and all I see anymore are power-mongers using the power of the government to impose their will upon others.

Our independents barely got 1% of the vote this time around. It's too bad because common sense politics would be nice.. Like most people, I'm fiscally conservative and socially liberal ;-) They had a guy in Des moines running for what he called the Pirate Party, where he explained that pirates had a rule that if the leader was doing a bad job, the constituents could make him walk the plank.

(he also mentioned he's on disability from work and we might as well send him to Washington since taxpayers are already paying to keep him alive!)

The problem was that the people who were taxxing me less were spending much more than the ones that were taxing me. The sponge was getting squeezed past dry I'm afraid.

Maybe without the stranglehold 50/50 layout we can start pushing something, anything, through the house and senate. Maybe we can consider this election sort of a laxitive that's hopefully going to free up a severely impacted bowel system!

Haha, that's a good one too. And come to think of it, I have no problem calling a democrat a suppository!
