I took this photo during a filming session with John Hurt for a stage production of 1984. We shot the film and photos in a dark corner of the Science Museum, London - and the production, by the Bradford-based theatre company Paperzoo, toured a number of venues around the UK.

All we had for lighting were two old rusty red-heads, and some black cloth. Probably the most unprepared, unequipped photo I've ever taken ... and possibly one of my best portraits. :)

Not a bad little snap given I had less that 30s to reset the lighting and grab my trusty D70. :o)
