First example of Seurat Painting Photo

    Newer Older

I know people (esp. Friends of Riverfront) will be anxious to see the results of this afternoon's photo-op so here goes...

A Beloit Daily News article reporting on the event itself appeared in the Monday, July 3rd edition: Art is alive along river

I shot about 100 frames and I'm sure others have many more. This is the first one that "grabbed me" as far as "hitting the mark" goes. I see now where we missplaced people in the frame, but that's expected with such a large group. The weather cooperated beautifully with one glaring exception... the wind was ferocious... which kept things cool but shredded at least two umbrellas.

Oh well... there's more where this came from. I hope other photos from other photographers will appear online soon. I can't wait to see what John Spates and Jim Simonson took.

      @ - No problem.

The Friends of Riverfront did this for a the Saturday in the Park event promotion in 2006. We're thrilled and happy to see such positive reactions and see it used in many educational programs.

Again, thanks to everyone for all the kind comments.

I bet the dog was the hardest subject to get on mark! Fantastic!
