All dressed up and nowhere to row, 2007

All dressed up and nowhere to row, 2007 by Museum of Australian Democracy at OPH.
Ian KENINS, born 1961.

In 1956, Lake Wendouree in Ballarat was nearly rejected as a site for yachting and rowing events for the Melbourne Olympics because it lacked sufficient depth over the whole course. Forty-eight years later, the Lake Wendouree Rowing Club’s coxed four long for any water to row on as they stand two metres below the usual water line.

Ballarat, Victoria.
