After Katrina, even the French Quarter is a tough neighborhood. I think this image pretty succinctly summarizes the impression I got of the city during my few days there.

	1987porsche944 says: Hm. I don't remember there being so much concertina wire when I was living there, 1998 - 2003. There was plenty of glass shards embedded in concrete surrounding courtyards, but I'm pretty sure that was more in line to keep pigeons from roosting on the walls and making a mess. Though, it would certainly work as a theft deterrent as well. Is there a lot of this stuff in the Quarters now? Posted 3 months ago. ( permalink )
