Martine Durand appointed OECD Chief Statistician

18/12/ 2009 - Martine Durand has been appointed OECD Chief Statistician and will take up duty on 1 February 2010 (Ms. Durand's CV will be available shortly).

As OECD Chief Statistician, Ms. Durand will provide the strategic leadership required to enhance the development of statistics and indicator sets to inform and promote evidence-based decision-making. She will head the Global Project on Measuring the Progress of Societies, in collaboration with OECD directorates and other international and regional partners, to foster the development of sets of key economic, social and environmental indicators to gauge the well-being of society, and make concrete proposals for the implementation phase.
