Typical Work Week

Typical Work Week by Black Dust a.k.a. odonbd.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
These days I have to visit a city distant 60km from mine, to be teaching programming languages to a class. Starting at 19:00pm and going to 23:00pm, I'm talking about Javascript.
Despite the short distance between the two cities, the trip usually takes an entire hour, my city is surrounded by hills, so the route is uphill all the way to North until reaches a plateau.
The scenery includes some spas (desert by now due to the winter), small and large ponds, many farms and plantations, and an iron road.
During the way, I'm taking mental notes about the landscape and more interesting points. Maybe in a small holidays I can make a trip with my bike and photograph all this places.
Nowadays, my collection is getting a little on the annoying side, just pictures taken at the sunset hour, from the bus window.

That's some journey to teach an evening class .. are you enjoying it?
It might be interesting to make some minute movies of these sunset / night time bus journies with the digital camera .. Quicktime offers a rough and ready editing facility.
Nice sunset.

@tonypraxis: Hi and thanks, Tony. I like to talk about programming languages and the journey is pleasing, I'm just worried because it becomes more expensive than I had thought in a monthly balance, a non win situation.
I have a digital camera that saves the movies in a quicktime file format, maybe I will try something with it next week.
@stewpic: Thank you, Stewart. The home return is fast because it's downhill, a total of 120 km a day.
@Earl - What I Saw 2.0: Thank you so much, Earl. As I said, I like to talk about programming languages.
@^Tom: Hi and thanks, Tom. I will become an expert in such type of shots, I have to repeat it again and again until I finally found one that was successful. (8

Odon, the small S6 Nikon camera I use saves the movie as a Quicktime file. I edit these short movies in the Quicktime player, and upload them to flickr. Problem is you need to upgrade flickr to 'Pro' to do this. If you drag the Quicktime file into iTunes this file can be made smaller for uploading (from 30MB to 8MB) I use 'Convert Selection for Apple TV'. Good luck.

@tonypraxis: Hi again, Tony. Thanks for the hint, I have iTunes on the corner of my desktop and never had used it for that. Well, I'm waiting for the number of pictures on my flickr account reaches the limit (200 photos) before becomes a pro, again. )-8 Until that, I still can upload a movie on my blog and point a link. I don't know why this limit is so tiny, MSN Spaces is now allowing 500 photos by month for free, a dream for hyperactive photographers. (-8

Odon, I quite like the 'restriction' of thinking about 'minute' movies - it's like an in-between genre ... a stretched snapshot.
Also I like the movies being embedded here on flickr, it keeps the comments in one place, and allows for a semblance of interactivity between stills and 'stretched sound stills' .. a flow of interactivity.
I'll look forward to seeing your movies here - only 30 pics to go, or you could say to hell with it and go for the movies now!

@tonypraxis: I think that the concept of a 'minute movie' is cool and practical, it's like plastic lens cameras are to photography. I also like this embedded movie feature, I'm just waiting for the right moment when the gods will allow me to say 'the hell with anything' without taking any offense. ;-)

Cool, take a deep breath and follow your heart .. those who wait for the winds to set sail will miss the breeze in their heart.
