DUDE! Fantastic sculpting all around! you really captured a lot of character and motion in it. The face is fantastic too.

I hope this model isn't another one that bites the dust, it needs to keep on fighting to the end. You need to build some fat bottomed girls. Okay...I'll stop now...besides, I want to ride my bicycle. ;)

All sorts of awesomeness. I especially like the jacket and how it seems to be reacting to the body's movement. Well done.

'So dear friends, your love has gone'.

This is just fantastic. A fitting tribute to a brilliant singer and showman. And I love that you've called it 'Fried Chicken' - it's a title only Queen fans would understand :)

I cannot tell you how excited I was when I saw your little Freddie. Wait - that came out wrong. It's too early for me to be putting my thoughts where people can see them. He is PERFECT.

LOL! I'll probably whip my 12-inch Freddie out at the next SeaLUG meeting for everyone to handle. Ah, that came out equally wrong :)

      "I won't be a rock star. I will be a legend"

Looks absolutely brilliant Iain, so fantastic. I hope it makes it to BrickCon next year.

.... and, I still think I should win something for guessing what it was from a picture of just his leg... though on the other hand, do I want to draw attention to that? 'Cause it's kinda weird of me. Anyhow, nice to see the finished model.

Also, I've been listening to nothing but Queen now for the last few hours, so cheers for that.

Examples of some Queen song title PUNNING that I saw about this on Reddit today...

"We will, we will, block you"
"All we hear is, Radio Le-Go"
"Square bottom girls, you making the blockin' world go round"
      "Mamma mia le-eh-go"
      "I want to brick free"
      "Don't. Drop. Me. Nowwwwwww."
"I'm gonna make a legosonic man out of you!"
      "Blockhemian Rhapsody"

Although the morons who claimed it was not made with regular bricks or had been glued are clearly going straight to hell. THIS IS 100% STANDARD LEGO WITH NO GLUE, PEOPLE!

Thanks to everyone for the massive love on this creation. You all rock!

I wonder if this could have been made when Mercury died. Did LEGO make the parts used back then?

    40. Profound Whatever (18 months ago | reply)

The best Reddit reaction I saw for this was "I see your LEGO Freddie Mercury, and raise you a LEGO Stephen Hawking!"

      Little did they know...

amazing tribute :) Freddie Mercury would be proud

Pretty much, yes. I used mostly basic elements that have been around for ages. Except there was no tan color then. However, what did not exist then was knowledge of the proper techniques!

Someone wanted to know what "lens flare" Photoshop add-in I used. Sadly, the lens flare in this image is entirely hand drawn. Because I am a cheap bastard! But it turns out, once you study a few examples, it's actually pretty easy to fake up. So I guess I can go on being cheap! :-)
