Ticket wall #1Caligula. The best show I've seen in the Ex. I went with the G&S board. Jess Burkle was perfect as Caligula, and even better as Caligula being Venus, complete with a dance interlude to the Human League's "Don't You Want Me". Closer. I was supposed to go with Uros, but he decided he didn't want to see it, so I went alone. Very good, very obviously a play. Whose Wife Is It Anyway? Brock was in this play, and James Oliver directed it. Brock gave me his free ticket, and I went to see it before coming home to watch 12 Monkeys with Sam instead of going to the Dunster formal. Caroline, or Change. A really interesting musical that I saw on Broadway with Mom and Dad at the end of July. The vocals were explosive, and the mixture of Southern and traditionally Jewish music with Motown from the 60s was interesting. I went with the G&S Board to see The Physicists. The play has flaws, but the production had none. Melissa's set was amazing. I went to the MSO concert with Casey, Caroline, and Ricky to see Melissa and T.J. play, and saw Mr. Goldman there. After, I went to The Wrap with T.J. where we ran into Clayton and his friend Yves. Opening night of Pirates! Uros came and ushered for us and then we all sat in Board seats. It was the only night that wasn't sold out, but the crowd (including the entire board of Overseers and David Mittel '39) loved the show. The Veritones fall concert. Sam sang "Danny's Song" and it was gorgeous. I sat with his parents and discovered that the language I was studying in tutorial at the time (Penobscot) was the language of some of Mrs. Halpert's (and Sam's) ancestors. I saw Marcel Marceau at the Loeb on a Dunster House outing. He was absolutely astounding. I can completely see why he's so famous. My favorite was "The Public Garden." He created a garden full of people, using only himself. I went to see the BSO perform Berlioz's Romeo and Juliette with my parents, Paloma, and Uros the weekend that Pirates opened. We went to Teatro, an excellent Italian restaurant downtown, before. The whole evening was a lot of fun. I saw Ray on Election Night with Claire. We were both trying to avoid election returns and hoopla. Jamie Foxx WAS Ray Charles in this movie. Afterward, I called Sam as soon as I left the theater, and he consoled me on the telephone the entire way home. I saw The Door in the Floor this summer with Thomas at Copley. The movie is based on "A Widow for One Year," my favorite book by John Irving. It was the best adaptation of Irving's novels that I had seen yet; it completely captured the mood. I saw Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban twice. Once in May (this ticket) with Sam, and over July 4th weekend with Clayton. Both times, each one commented into my ear the entire time. I loved it. Grad Jam. I went to see Sam sing with the Veritones. ![]() This photo and the next one are photos of my ticket wall, which is where I put all my ticket stubs from all of the events I go to.
