Hope you had fun :-) It's weird that I am always in Canada for this day even though I'm an American! Nothing exciting up here, though. Just a tractor parade....sigh... :-)

tractor parade, ha! a couple of years ago, i was in the US for canada day, and in canada for july 4! now that's really doing it wrong...

i love canada. it's dear in my heart. i've been in this mall before. it's rather epic. i visited toronto and london, ontario in 2000. i loved it very much and would love to see it again.

there's some great architecture in toronto for sure. it's too bad that the founding store in this mall, eaton's, no longer exists! have you been to Vancouver, BC, Vanessa? there's a lot going on up there, too.

Cool shot! I haven't been to Eaton Centre for years, but it still looks pretty much the same. Yes, too bad Eaton's is gone. All the major Canadian retailers are either closed or owned by foreign entities now.

i have been to vancouver but it's not recently. not since i fell in love with photography. i really want to go back. soon, i hope. i love it up there. victoria is quite lovely too. when i was in totonto, i got a toronto maple leaf hat in that very mall. i went to europe later in the year and totally lost it in nice, france. i was really bummed. i adored that hat.

i know exactly what you mean! great way of putting it - there are so many places i want to revisit now too since falling in love with photography.

there are some smaller canadian success stories (i.e. lululemon, aldo, lush, to name just 3 we have in little santa barbara) but yes, it's sad news for the big canadian retailers. i assume the bay is still canadian owned though?
